Weekend Logistics

We are working on accommodations within walking distance to the the Chapel and Beaver Creek Village. If you are staying in Beaver Creek or Bachelor Gulch, you can call Dial A Ride to pick you up and take you any of our various event venues. (970.949.1938, allowing 10-20 minutes for pick-up). If you are staying in Avon, take the free public bus up to Beaver Creek Village. Get off the bus at the covered bridge (the same stop you get off at to go skiing). The Hyatt is a short walk past the Gondola from there. Please make sure you allow plenty of time to get from your lodge to the transportation center. You can also park in the Beaver Creek Village ramp. The first 2 hours are free. The ramp is called Gerald Ford Village Hall and is located just below the Chapel on Village Road, near the covered bridge. This ramp does fill up quite often however so leave yourselves plenty of time to find parking

Arriving by Air

You can fly into Denver International Airport or Eagle. We strongly recommend flying into Eagle to avoid winter driving. However, we’ve included information about both below. If you’re considering renting a car, we recommend flying into Denver. The drive to Beaver Creek offers stunning scenery and is a memorable part of the experience. If you’re not planning to rent a car, you can still fly into Denver and use Epic Mountain Express for convenient transportation to Beaver Creek.

Denver International Airport (DEN)

Beaver Creek is located approximately 120 miles west from Denver and about 2 hours from the Denver International Airport. All major airlines service the Denver airport daily.

Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE)

Beaver Creek offers complimentary door-to-door shuttle service within the resort, including travel to the villages of Bachelor Gulch, Avon, and Arrowhead. Preparing For The Trip

High Altitude

Beaver Creek is more than 8,000 feet above sea level and guests may struggle with altitude sickness. Altitude sickness can hit anyone regardless of physical condition or age. The most common symptoms include: headache, dizziness and nausea, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, disturbed sleep. Staying hydrated is essential! We also recommend enjoy some healthy sugars and carbohydrates during the first day or two of your stay. We promise this will help as well! If you can, consider arriving early to give yourself time to adjust. We usually feel back to normal after 24 hours have passed. Also, please note that alcohol is more potent at high altitudes. Don’t find out the hard way! When drinking, we recommend you alternate between a drink and a glass of water. One drink here = two drinks there!

Weather

Beaver Creek is BEAUTIFUL, however remember that the altitude is very high and mountain weather can be extreme!

Before your trip, we recommend checking the weather forecast for Avon, Colorado (zip code 81620) at <a href="http://www.weather.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.weather.com</a>. While Colorado boasts over 300 days of sunshine each year, winter weather in the mountains can be quite unpredictable. For our winter wedding weekend, be prepared for colder temperatures and the possibility of snow. Daytime temperatures typically range from the low 30s to mid-40s, but nights on the mountain can drop to the teens or lower. We are hopeful for a beautiful, snowy backdrop for our celebration, so please dress warmly and plan accordingly. At 10,000 feet, the top of Beaver Creek mountain, exposure to the sun is 40% greater than it is at sea level. Sunscreen (at least SPF 30) is recommended for all exposed skin, particularly the face, lips and neck. Be certain to protect your eyes with sunglasses. You will find Beaver Creek to be an arid climate, so hand lotion and lip balm are essential.

Packing Tips

It is very important that you pack your suitcase with the appropriate apparel. Remember, you can always take layers off, so for this trip, it is definitely better to "over pack".
